Privacy & transparency
Privacy policy
This policy explains how Vic Yang, an individual developer based in Hebei, China, handles information for B20 Stress Test and this website. “I” and “me” refer to Vic Yang. Contact me at tigerywy@gmail.com for privacy questions or requests.
The first release is free, with no advertising or in-app purchases. I do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If advertising, purchases or other materially different data practices are introduced later, this notice and the relevant in-game choices will be updated before they take effect.
1. Information used by the game
Local play and settings
The game saves progress and preferences on your device, including language, sound, performance settings, unlocks, achievements and optional reporting choices. Your device operating system may also back up app data according to your device settings. Clearing local app data can erase guest progress and preferences; it does not by itself delete data already stored online.
Online identity and session management
Unity Gaming Services provides authentication, cloud storage and online score services. When online services start, an anonymous game account can be created without an email address. Its player ID still identifies a game account: “anonymous sign-in” does not mean that the resulting records cannot be linked to that account.
Online services use the player ID, authentication credentials, a randomly generated installation identifier, session identifiers, session timestamps and a device label. The label normally comes from the device model; a device name or platform name may be used as a fallback. These records help recognize a session and prevent conflicting cloud saves from different devices. Service providers also process network request information, such as IP addresses and technical connection metadata, to deliver and protect their services.
Cloud progress and scores
Cloud saving stores your chosen nickname, points and best results, play-token balance, completed runs, streaks, unlocked games and themes, theme experience and difficulty, achievement and daily-task progress, first-play progress, daily entry usage, save revisions and related dates and timestamps. Recent run identifiers are kept to avoid counting the same submitted result twice.
The current in-game ranking screen uses simulated opponents. Separately, the online service stores an endless-mode score entry associated with your player ID, nickname, points and update metadata. Other clients can retrieve online leaderboard entries through the service. Do not put a real name, email address or other private information in your nickname. A simulated ranking screen is not a guarantee that your submitted online name and score are private.
Optional Unity Player Account
If you choose to link an account, Unity operates the sign-in page and handles the email address and credentials used for its separate Unity Player Account. The game uses the returned identity and authentication credentials for linking and recovery. Do not send your password or verification codes to me. Unity is independently responsible for its Player Account identity service; deleting game data and deleting that separate account are different requests.
2. Optional analytics and crash reports
The game provides separate, initially off choices for Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. You can decline both and change your choices later in the game's settings.
- Gameplay analytics: gameplay events and technical usage information, such as game and theme identifiers, mode, difficulty, round, result, duration, score, rewards, unlocks, cloud-operation results, app version, device and operating-system information, and app-instance identifiers. An available game player ID can be associated with these events.
- Crash diagnostics: crash and error reports, stack traces, app and device information, installation-related identifiers and gameplay context that helps reproduce a fault. An available game player ID can be associated with reports. When analytics is also enabled, related event breadcrumbs can help explain what happened before a crash.
These services help improve the game and investigate faults. The game's reporting code does not intentionally send your nickname, passwords, sign-in tokens or complete cloud save as analytics events. The first release does not use these services for advertising personalization.
Turning a reporting choice off withdraws permission for that optional reporting. For native crash reporting, restart the game after changing the choice so the next launch uses the saved setting. Crashlytics may keep unsent crash reports on the device while automatic upload is off and send them if you later enable it. Turning a choice off does not recall reports already sent, automatically delete historical records, or disable the separate Unity online services. For deletion, use the request process below.
3. This website and support email
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Its own code does not include analytics, advertising, third-party media embeds, account registration, a contact form, tracking cookies or browser storage. Cloudflare processes request data, including IP addresses, URLs, browser information and request times, to deliver and protect the site. I have not enabled Worker request logs or tracing for this static website. That does not mean that Cloudflare processes no operational or security information.
If you email me, Gmail handles your email address, message, attachments and email metadata. I use the correspondence to respond, investigate the issue and handle your request. Please send only relevant details and remove other people's information from screenshots. The support address is not used to enroll you in marketing emails.
4. Why information is processed
Account and progress information provides the online features you use and keeps saves consistent. Session and security information helps prevent misuse and investigate failures. Support information lets me answer you and honor privacy and other legal obligations. Optional analytics and crash reporting are used with your permission.
Where European or UK data-protection law applies, the relevant grounds are performance of the agreement for necessary game services, legitimate interests in proportionate service security and support, compliance with legal obligations, and consent for optional reporting. Where local law instead requires consent or additional safeguards for a particular activity, those requirements apply. This privacy notice is not itself a request for consent, and agreeing to game terms is not consent to optional analytics.
5. Recipients and international processing
- Unity: game authentication, session processing through Cloud Code, Cloud Save and Leaderboards; a separate Player Account sign-in service when selected. See Unity's game-player privacy policy and its Player Account privacy information.
- Google: optional Firebase analytics and crash diagnostics, and Gmail for support correspondence. See Firebase privacy information and Google's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare: website hosting and protection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Other recipients where necessary: public authorities if disclosure is legally required, or professional advisers where needed to address a specific dispute or legal obligation. Only information relevant to that purpose is disclosed.
I operate from China and can access game-service and support records there to administer the game and respond to requests. Unity, Google and Cloudflare operate international infrastructure, including in the United States and other countries, so information may be processed outside your country. This game does not promise that all data stays in one region.
Provider processing is subject to the terms and data-protection arrangements applicable to each service. Where required for a transfer, appropriate safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism must apply; a link to a provider's policy alone does not establish that every transfer is covered. Contact me for information about safeguards applicable to your data. Separate third-party account services and websites have their own privacy notices.
6. How long information is kept
- Local progress and settings: remain on your device until removed or overwritten, subject to operating-system backup and restore behavior.
- Game account, cloud progress and score entry: kept to maintain your account and continuing progress until you request deletion or the relevant service is discontinued. The current game does not automatically delete inactive cloud accounts after a fixed number of days. Outdated save values are replaced during synchronization. Any exceptional retention for a legal obligation or a specific dispute is limited to the data and period needed for that purpose.
- Session and duplicate-run records: the latest session record is replaced by later sessions; ending or expiring a session does not erase that record. The game retains up to the latest 50 submitted run identifiers for duplicate detection. These records are included in a game-data deletion request.
- Analytics: the currently configured event-data retention period is 2 months. User-data retention is 14 months and resets with new user activity. Google processes expiry on its deletion schedule; these controls do not apply to most standard aggregated reports. See Google's retention explanation.
- Crash diagnostics: Firebase states that it retains crash stack traces, extracted minidump data and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning their removal from its live and backup systems. This is not a guarantee that every copy is erased exactly on day 90.
- Support correspondence: kept while a request is open and, ordinarily, for up to 12 months after closure to handle follow-up. A minimal record of a privacy request and the action taken may be retained while needed to demonstrate compliance or resolve a specific dispute. Unnecessary attachments and identity-check material are removed when no longer needed. Any longer retention is limited to a legal requirement or an unresolved matter.
- Provider operational records and separate accounts: follow the applicable provider's retention rules for its own security and legal purposes. Deleting the game's live records may not immediately remove provider backups. A separate Unity Player Account is managed by Unity; game-data deletion does not close it.
7. Access, correction, deletion and other rights
The Android game's Settings → Account & data provides a game-account deletion action with a confirmation step. It removes the game identity and associated current game-service records, not historical Firebase reports or your separate Unity Player Account. If it fails, or you need deletion of other data, email tigerywy@gmail.com or follow the account and data deletion instructions. You can use the website even if you have uninstalled the game. Merely opening the support page does not submit a request.
A minimal server-side closure marker may remain after game-data deletion to prevent delayed requests from recreating deleted records. It is not used for gameplay analytics or marketing. There is currently no automatic expiry for this marker; its continued necessity and removal are handled manually when processing requests. Deletion of live game data does not mean every provider backup or diagnostic record is immediately erased.
You can ask to delete your game account and associated game-service records, or specify particular data. I may need a proportionate ownership check to avoid deleting somebody else's account. A public player ID or knowledge of a nickname alone is not proof of ownership. Do not send passwords, sign-in tokens, verification codes or identity documents in your initial request. I will explain any additional information needed.
I aim to respond within one month and will follow any shorter applicable legal deadline. If a legally permitted extension, verification step or exception is needed, I will explain it and the expected next step. I will explain any data that must be retained and why. Requests are normally free of charge, and exercising privacy rights does not result in a penalty.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, and a complaint to your local data-protection authority. You may also be entitled to use an authorized representative or appeal a denied request. Contact the same address for an appeal. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing based on that consent unlawful. The game does not use solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
8. Younger players
The intended audience is teenagers aged 13 and above and adults. This is an audience statement, not an official age rating. Store ratings and higher regional eligibility requirements still apply. The game is not directed to children under 13.
The current Android build asks for an age range on each launch, without saving that answer or asking for a date of birth. Players under 13 cannot proceed. Ages 13–17 can use local play only; adults choose separately whether to start online services, with separate choices for optional reporting. This is a self-declared age gate, not identity-based age verification or a parental-consent system. Earlier private test builds may not have this gate. Where local law imposes higher eligibility or additional safeguards, those requirements still apply.
If you believe a child has provided personal information without required permission, contact me without sending unnecessary details about the child. I will investigate and take the steps required by applicable law, including removal of information where appropriate.
9. Security and changes
The game uses encrypted network connections for its service requests and service authentication and access controls for cloud records. These measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security. Local data may be accessible to someone who controls your device. Please keep your device and sign-in credentials secure.
Updates to this policy will appear here with a revised date. Material changes will also be communicated through appropriate game or release notices, and fresh consent will be requested where required. A policy update does not retroactively authorize optional collection you declined.
